Is SoulSpeak private?

SoulSpeak is private in a local-first sense, not a blanket cloud-privacy sense. Most reflective state still stays on this device by default, while a smaller set of linked-account lanes can sync after consent.

Why this page exists

Emotional-wellness products lose trust fast when they blur local storage, cloud sync, and AI-provider usage. SoulSpeak needs privacy language that is calm, exact, and non-inflated.

What stays on this device by default

SoulSpeak still keeps the broader reflective experience local-first. That means the wider product state is designed to stay in browser-local storage unless the product explicitly tells you otherwise.

This matters because SoulSpeak should not borrow the trust language of a fully hosted clinical platform while it is still in a staged beta posture.

What can leave the device

When live AI is enabled, the current Soul Chat request can be sent to OpenAI so a response can be generated. Server-side moderation can also inspect higher-risk live messages so the product can pause and steer toward grounding.

That is a narrower claim than saying SoulSpeak is fully offline or fully private in every mode. The safer promise is that the product is local-first by default and specific off-device paths are named clearly.

  • Optional live AI request content when that mode is enabled.
  • Staged linked-account sync after sign-in and consent for specific data lanes.
  • Visible export, continuity, deletion-request, and cancellation controls.

How consent should be understood

Consent is not a decorative checkbox here. SoulSpeak treats linked-account reflection sync as an explicit product boundary, and turning it off pauses future sync rather than pretending data never existed.

That kind of plain language builds stronger beta trust than polished but overbroad promises.

Common questions

Does SoulSpeak promise end-to-end cloud privacy?

No. SoulSpeak should describe itself as local-first with staged linked-account lanes, not as a finished cloud-privacy system.

Can live AI send content off-device?

Yes. If live AI is enabled, the current request can leave the device so a reply can be generated.

Can I control linked sync?

Yes. The product surfaces linked-account reflection sync, export, deletion-request, and cancellation controls rather than hiding them.

BEST NEXT TRUST ROUTE

If this guide answered one question but not the next one, use the shortest route instead of guessing what SoulSpeak means by privacy, support, or trust.

BOUNDARY NOTE

These guides support informed self-reflection. They are not therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support, and they should not replace qualified human help when that is what a moment needs.
